One of the favourite traditional games
Wau bulan is one of Malaysia's symbol. It is an intricately designed Malaysian moon kite that is traditionally flown by a man in the Malaysian state of Kelantan. There are much kind and design of wau bulan that is " wau kucing "," wau merak " and some kind of the variants. Its size is larger than other traditional kites.
In the first place, the government should be holding national traditional competition more often. By this way, it will make people know about traditional games and these games not being extinct by youngsters. Once it is made ready for flight, it is handled by two men, one who helps launch it, while holding it against the wind, and the other who actually handles the kite, manipulating it by means of the string. Then, the judges will consider which kite flown high and the skill of the kite handlers which the winner.
Introduction to the young generations about ways bulan could also help the young generation to get to know about wau bulan. As an older, we can attract them by playing traditional games around them. By this way, the children know which is traditional games. In addition, every school should apply traditional games in curriculum activities.
Last, we can do an event to make this game recognized. From this way, they will learn how to draw and decorate wau bulan, steps to handle the kite that make it fly high. Besides, they can also learn how to make wau bulan by themselves. We can conclude, by doing an event they being able to learn more deeply which also can fill their time from being wasted.
In short, here are some of the ways to ensure that future generations can recognize traditional games and continue to introduce these games to the next generation.
